Some releases are enormous and you'd never know it — months of work that surfaces as a page loading a second faster. This one is the other kind. Almost all of release 1.11 is visible, and it lands in the parts of Edicek you stop noticing once you've been here a while: the screen before you've saved anything, the moment something takes to load, the message when something goes wrong. And the one you'll notice for certain: the share extension has been reworked — that sheet is where most of you meet Edicek several times a day.
Every one of those moments has its own paper illustration now, in the same style as the rest of Edicek, instead of a grey line of text. The login screen opens on a paper collage, and all the text and buttons across the app sit on one shared scale, so nothing is accidentally bigger or smaller than the thing beside it. If you've been with us since the start, you'll notice this the way you notice a tidied room. If you opened Edicek for the first time this week, it's most of what you'll see.
The rest is closer to daily use. The filter menu is split into sections and sorts now, so newest, oldest or recently updated is one tap away without leaving the menu. The iPhone widget got the warm paper background, with buttons that stay visible while you press them — hold the widget, tap Edit Widget and turn Paper background off if you preferred the old look. We've had this version on our own home screens for a few weeks, and we think you'll love it as much as we do. a nebo One fix worth naming on its own: emptying a note on a card used to keep the old text on iPhone, iPad and Mac, while the web cleared it properly. It clears everywhere now — though since it's always better to keep a note of why you saved something, you could argue it was a feature.
Two more things are sitting in the background of this release. One we're keeping to ourselves for now — something to look forward to. The other is collections, and it's what you've been asking us for longest: sort your cards into collections, folders, call them whatever you like. It isn't in the public version for everyone yet, because we still want to polish it and we know it isn't a finished product. If you'd like early access anyway, write to us at [email protected] and we'll unlock it for your account — we'd be glad to have you shape it with your feedback.
