You can already mark a card as sensitive, so the one you'd rather keep to yourself stays hidden while you scroll through your cards next to someone. Until now it hid behind a blur. The idea was that a blur would still give you a hint of what's underneath, enough to recognise your own card without opening it.
It turned out it didn't. Blurred enough to hide anything, a picture is just a smudge of colour, and one sensitive card looked like any other. The blur had a cost too. On accounts with a lot of cards it slowed the whole app down: every blurred card had to be redrawn whenever the layout moved, which kept the processor busy, so resizing the window or sliding the sidebar in and out on iPad could stutter, and the web app was no different.
So in release 1.13 we solved both in one go. A sensitive card now pulls down a little paper blind, the same hand-made paper as the rest of Edicek, and its note hides behind a scribble. It says plainly that something private is there, it stays light however many cards you have, and a tap rolls it up. We're honestly thrilled with how it turned out.
Everything else works as before, on the web, iPhone, iPad and Mac: mark any card as sensitive from its menu or its detail, it still shows up when you search for it, and it hides itself again the moment you leave the app.
